Chief Operating Officer, Vice President
Scott Young is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Irides, a managed services company based in Arlington, VA. Scott is responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as the long term growth of the company.
Throughout his career Scott has focused on delivering unique and high quality solutions. His philosophy is 'build it better, run it cheaper'. Twenty years as a management consultant, software developer and recently as CIO of SiloSmashers has given him an understand of the application of technology across disparate industries. His experience in everything from nuclear engineering to air-traffic control and banking provides insight to solutions for some of technologies on-going challenges. He has worked successfully on the two classic technology problems: complexity in large system integrations and making technology work for people. At Irides his goal has been to bring the technology, process and quality advantages previously only available to large organizations to both small and medium businesses.
Scott was born in Scotland and received a Bachelor's Degree in Computational Physics from Heriot-Watt University. He has lived and worked in Europe and North America and is now based in Virginia.
