Scott Young, Chief Operating Officer

Scott Young joined Irides in 2007 as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Scott is responsible for day-to-day operations as well as the long-term growth of the company.

Throughout his career, Scott has focused on delivering unique and high quality solutions. His philosophy is "build it better, run it cheaper." Twenty years as a management consultant, software developer and recently as CIO of SiloSmashers has given him an understand of the application of technology across disparate industries. His experience in everything from nuclear engineering to air-traffic control and banking provides insight to solutions for some of technology's ongoing challenges.

He has worked successfully on the two classic technology problems: complexity in large system integrations and making technology work for people. At Irides his goal has been to level the playing field for small- and medium-sized businesses by bringing to them the technology, process and quality advantages available to large organizations.

Scott was born in Scotland and received a Bachelor's Degree in Computational Physics from Heriot-Watt University. He has lived and worked in Europe and North America and is now based in Virginia.

Kelley Edwards, Director of Engineering

As Director of Engineering for Irides, Kelley is responsible for the key technologies that support Irides and its customers. She oversees day-to-day technical data center operations, leads the engineering team and is the holder of the architectural vision for Irides. It is through Kelley and her team that the vision of a technical operation that matches our customers' business needs is realized.

As befits a technical leader, Kelley has a deep understanding of IT operations and the data center in particular. She holds multiple certifications, including MCSE, CCNA and CCSA. Prior to joining Irides, Kelley work at UUNet, now Verizon Business. UUNet was one of the innovators of commercial web hosting and supplied hosting services to major Fortune 500 companies. This formative experience has given her the understanding of the interaction between technology, process and people and allows her to empathize with the Irides engineers who maintain our world-class hosting service.

Since joining in 2007, Kelley has gathered an exceptional team of specialists to run the Irides operation. When building her team Kelley took time in identifying people that share her enthusiasm and dedication to providing the best service to our customers. Looking for intangibles while recruiting, she has assembled a team that is business minded and shares mutual respect for one another. She expects the employees of Irides to work well as a team, and that translates to the quality service provided to customers. She is proud of the unique opportunity to "guide people's careers, and watch them grow."
